Andy has practiced law in the Lowcountry since 2005. From then through April 2017, he worked in larger Charleston firms, including nearly ten years at one with around 100 lawyers. In most of those cases, Andy defended lawyers, doctors, hospitals, businesses, nursing homes, architects, contractors, and people involved in car wrecks. These were usually clients with insurance coverage, and the insurance company paid for the representation. This was meaningful work that put Andy in court frequently. However, at its core, it was usually about saving insurance companies money.
Andy left the firm and started his own practice in 2017. While he still handles some defense cases, being on his own allows him to represent wronged and injured people. This usually means fighting an insurance company. Andy knows how the insurance companies and their lawyers work and uses this knowledge to strategically, thoughtfully and aggressively advocate for his clients. Litigation is adversarial, complicated and can take a long time. Andy enjoys guiding clients through the process in a way they can understand and appreciate.
